French Polynesia has three VAT rates, including a 10% normal rate for services
Communal tax
A tax paid at some hotels and cruise ships, including those in Bora Bora. The rate is 150 CFP per night and per person at rated hotels and cruise ships, and 50 CFP per night and per person at non-rated hotels
French Polynesia also has other taxes, including:
Corporate tax: The standard corporate tax rate is 25%, but it's 33% for mining companies, financial and credit institutions, and leasing companies. New companies are exempt from corporate tax for the first three business years
Property tax: The property tax is 4% of the construction value, but new construction is exempt for the first five years
Indirect tax on products: There's a 200% tax on high-proof alcohol and a 100% tax on beer
